Whether your children are pre-school or they are sitting A-levels they are very welcome in our church family. We have a number of different groups for different ages of children, all aiming to teach the children the Bible in a way that is appropriate for their age.
On Sunday mornings everyone, young and old, spend the first part of the service together. During this part of the service we sing (including at one children's song), hear part of the Bible read, and then have a short talk directed at the children (but for us all to listen to).
After the short talk children up to year 6 leave to go to Creche or one
of the Sunday Club groups. The different groups we have are:
Creche (0-4 years old)
Climbers (4 years old - year 2)
Grid (years 3 - 6)
Just before the sermon children in years 7 - 9 leave for the
Pathfinders group. Teenagers in years 10 - 13 stay in during the morning
service and then go to the Youth Group which meets from 7.45pm till
9.00pm at the Parish Assistant's house. [Please note that there is currently no Youth Group - contact the Assistant Minister for information].
There is a toddlers and babies group that meet on weekday mornings in Sherborne St John Village Hall. Please see the calendar for days and times.
In the first week of the school summer holidays we run a four day
Holiday Bible Club for children in years R to 6. There is lots of fun,
games, crafts, drama and learning from the Bible. The dates for 2018 are: TBD
Our aim is to make sure every child can be themselves in a safe and
welcoming environment. Our children's workers are appointed through
interview only, are CRB checked and have first aid and safeguarding
