Welcome to our new vicar
We are pleased to welcome Reverend Stewart Deering and his family,Becky and children Henry, Toby and Annie to our parish. After a short family holiday Stewart will be in charge of our parish.
Hello!
I’m delighted to introduce myself as the new Priest-in-Charge of Sherbornes with Pamber. We moved as a family to Sherborne St John earlier in the summer and we are really excited to be joining your community. I'm married to Becky and we have three young children, Annie (1), Toby (4) and Henry (5). We all enjoy exploring the outdoors so you might find us out and about getting to know the many beautiful walks around the parish.
Growing up on a farm in Northern Ireland, I first moved to England to study Mechanical Engineering at the University of Sheffield before training as a Science Teacher. I worked in a school in Doncaster for a number of years before I sensed God's call to ordained ministry. This took me to London for training and then back to Sheffield where I was ordained and completed my curacy at the churches of Holy Cross, Gleadless Valley, and St John's, Park.
My first Sunday will be on the 27th of August and I'm really looking forward to working with the congregations of the three churches in the parish as together we seek to share God's love with everyone in our community. All our services are open to everyone, whatever your age or background, so do please feel free to join us at any time.
